Addicted!

The first step is admitting you have a problem so here it goes . . . . .

My name is Heather and I am addicted to "Centsational Girl" and all links within. Okay, I will explain. Several weeks ago I stumbled across this blog and fell in love. Kate is in Northern Cali and loves to do home renos and decor projects. Her work has inspired me! She finds old, outdated, damaged pieces of furniture at thrift stores, and other places, and makes them over. She shows you step by step how she does things as well so that is really helpful. I could go on and on but if you dare take a peak for yourself, beware, you too can become addicted ;-)

I mentioned she inspires me and so for the last several weeks I have been on the hunt for items I could purchase inexpensively and fix up for my own home. Here are a few things I have found.

I have not had "real" chairs for my kitchen table since it was purchased over 5 years ago. It was bought as a temporary table but I have not had the means to purchase what I really want so I am living with it for awhile. Then, I had an idea to find several different inexpensive chairs and paint them all the same color. I think it might me kind of cool but we shall see. At least they look better than folding chairs. =)

I found all three of these chairs at a thrift store for $2 and $5 each. WOW, now that is in my budget! The best part, I have a fun new project ahead of me.
Here is another find. I know it looks like an old headboard but Kate inspired me when she took something similar and turned it into a coat rack (http://www.centsationalgirl.com/2009/08/diy-headboard-turned-coat-rack/) Love it! Not sure if I will follow her lead or go another way but I am excited to turn it into something new. =)

This is my new favorite purchase!!! It is an old hutch that the previous Craigslist owner already repainted. It does not look bad, but I have a few fresh ideas for this baby. Stay tuned because one day it will get an awesome makeover. For now I will remove the lovely glass doors on top and change out the handles. This is my new spot to display my seasonal items, love, love!
